Description
Le Parfait Super jars are the classic French canning jars: thick glass, a stainless steel wire-bail clamp, and a natural rubber seal that closes airtight. Made in France since 1930, these French glass jars are built to can, ferment, store, and serve for years.
- Water-bath canning. Heat-resistant glass and a new rubber seal for each batch make these preserving jars a fit for high-acid foods like jams, pickles, and fruit. Always follow a tested canning recipe.
- Fermenting. The clamp-top closure keeps outside air away while sauerkraut, pickles, and other vegetables ferment.
- Pantry, fridge, and freezer. Clear glass storage jars with lids that seal keep dry goods like flour, grains, and coffee fresh and in view, and take soups and sauces from the fridge to the freezer.
- Easy to use. The wide opening makes filling, ladling, and cleaning simple, and the flip-top lid never needs unscrewing.
- Made to last. Replace the rubber seals or the wire frame instead of the jar.

Where can I buy Le Parfait jars in the United States?
Le Parfait jars are sold directly at leparfait.us, with U.S. shipping from our Elmhurst, Illinois warehouse. In stores, you can find Le Parfait at Whole Foods Market and The Container Store, as well as select specialty kitchen, homesteading, and natural-foods retailers. See our Where to Buy page for store locators and tips on finding a specific size.
How do you use Le Parfait jars?
Le Parfait jars are used for water-bath canning, fermenting vegetables, freezer storage, dry-pantry storage, refrigerator storage of leftovers, and serving. Recipes and how-to guides are at leparfait.us/blogs/recipes.
Are these jars good for water-bath canning?
Yes, for high-acid foods such as jams, pickles, and fruit, when you follow a current tested recipe written for your jar size. Use a new rubber seal or sealing cap for each batch; the glass and the rest of the closure are reusable. Recipes are at leparfait.us/blogs/recipes.
Is Le Parfait glass lead free?
Yes. Le Parfait glass is a soda-lime-silica glass with no lead added during fabrication. Products are tested annually to certify no heavy metal contaminants (lead, cadmium, etc.) and meet the most stringent European and French standards for food-use glass.
How often should you replace the rubber seal?
Replace rubber seals after every canning or pickling project, or every six months for everyday use. Replace immediately at any sign of cracking, drying, or discoloration to protect the closing mechanism.
Are Le Parfait glass jars freezable?
Yes. Le Parfait glass jars work well for freezer storage thanks to the sleek neck and shoulder geometry. Leave proper headspace for contents to expand.
Are Le Parfait glass jars dishwasher safe?
Yes. Le Parfait jars are dishwasher safe and can also be hand washed. Air dry completely before storing.
Can you use Le Parfait jars for fermentation?
Yes. Le Parfait Super Jars are ideal for fermenting sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, and hot sauce. The rubber gasket and wire-bail closure allows CO2 from active fermentation to escape while keeping oxygen and contaminants out, no airlock required. Fill to the shoulder, keep the wire bail clamped, and store in a cool location during active fermentation.
Do I need a rubber seal for pantry storage?
Yes. Always close a Super jar with a Le Parfait Super rubber seal, even for dry goods, so the wire hinge and glass rim are protected. For jars you open every day, the Screw Top Jar is the easier choice.
How do I care for the wire closure?
Now and then, turn the wire ring while holding the jar and lid still. This clears crumbs caught under the wire and keeps the clamping pressure from resting on the same spot of the glass rim.
