Where are Le Parfait jars made?

Le Parfait jars are made in France. The company has produced glass preserving jars since 1930, and every jar sold by Le Parfait America is manufactured in France to French and European food-safety standards, then imported and distributed from our Elmhurst, Illinois warehouse.

What sizes do Le Parfait jars come in?

Le Parfait jars are available in sizes from 125ml (4 oz) up to 3L (96 oz). The Super Jar line covers 250ml, 500ml, 750ml, 1L, 1.5L, 2L, and 3L; the Super Terrine line runs 125ml through 1L; Familia Wiss terrines run 200ml to 1L (the 500ml is a US Pint and the 1L is a US Quart equivalent); Jam Jars come in 324ml and 385ml; Jam Pots come in 324ml and 445ml. For a full sizing matrix with use cases by size, see our guide: What size Le Parfait jar do I need?

Where can I buy Le Parfait jars in the United States?

Le Parfait jars are sold directly at leparfait.us with U.S. shipping from our Elmhurst, Illinois warehouse. In-store, our national retail partner is Whole Foods Market. Use the Whole Foods store locator to find Le Parfait at your nearest location.

How do you use Le Parfait jars?

Le Parfait jars are used for home canning (water bath and pressure canning), fermenting vegetables, freezer storage, dry-pantry storage, refrigerator storage of leftovers, and serving. Recipes and how-to guides are at leparfait.us/blogs/recipes.

Are these jars good for water bath canning and pressure canning?

Yes. Le Parfait jars are approved for foodstuffs and can be used for long-term food preservation with either water bath or pressure canning. See leparfait.us/blogs/recipes for specific time and temperature requirements. The rubber seal (Super) or sealing cap (Screw Top) is a replacement part; use a new seal for each canning event.

Is Le Parfait glass lead free?

Yes. Le Parfait glass is a soda-lime-silica glass with no lead added during fabrication. Products are tested annually to certify no heavy metal contaminants (lead, cadmium, etc.) and meet the most stringent European and French standards for food-use glass.

How often should you replace the rubber seal?

Replace rubber seals after every canning or pickling project, or every six months for everyday use. Replace immediately at any sign of cracking, drying, or discoloration to protect the closing mechanism.

Are Le Parfait glass jars freezable?

Yes. Le Parfait glass jars work well for freezer storage thanks to the sleek neck and shoulder geometry. Leave proper headspace for contents to expand.

Are Le Parfait glass jars dishwasher safe?

Yes. Le Parfait jars are dishwasher safe and can also be hand washed. Air dry completely before storing.

Can you use Le Parfait jars for fermentation?

Yes. Le Parfait Super Jars are ideal for fermenting sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, and hot sauce. The rubber gasket and wire-bail closure allows CO2 from active fermentation to escape while keeping oxygen and contaminants out, no airlock required. Fill to the shoulder, keep the wire bail clamped, and store in a cool location during active fermentation.

Le Parfait jars are the BOMB!

I love everything about these jars! They are high quality, durable, stack well, easy to store and they make everything I either can or store in them look fantastic. I'm converting all my jars to Le Parfait from dry bean storage, dry goods storage, jams/jellies, relishes, pickles, tomatoes, salsa verde, to dressings and sauces stored in their bottles. It's Le Parfait for the win in my house.

Beautiful, high quality jars

I use these 1000ml jars when I make homemade yogurt. It's easy to scoop out along the straight sides, as it would be with other food items like stew, soup, beans, etc. I prefer these over the typical mason jar style with the curved sides. I've been using the 12oz jars when I take my lunch to work. I imagine they will be great for storing food in the fridge as well.
